Dangerous goods

Prohibited contents risk being stopped by us. They may also be stopped by Swedish Customs if you are sending letters and parcels outside the EU. The sender is responsible for the content and ensuring it is allowed to be sent.

You may not send goods and substances classified as hazardous.

A limited quantity of hazardous goods may be sent for certain services. More information about hazardous goods can be obtained from MSB - Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency.

You can read about what may and may not be sent in the general terms and in the terms of each service. See more information in the terms of each service, PostNord’s General Terms and Conditions for businesses and other organizations (PAKN) and PostNord’s General Terms and Conditions (PAV) (pdf in Swedish).

International shipments

For International shipments, special restrictions may apply and many countries have import restrictions.

See what applies for each country

Shipments for air transport

To satisfy the regulations on aviation safety, shipments must be X-rayed in accordance with EU directives. This applies to both domestic and international shipments. In cases where an X-ray cannot reveal the contents of the shipment, the shipment will be sent using a different mode of transport, such as rail or road, if possible. As a result, the shipment will be delayed. If the shipment cannot be sent using a different mode of transport, it will be returned to the sender. The contents of shipments may also be subject to restrictions issued by IATA/ICAO.

Other

Of course, you are also not permitted to send goods that may injure staff or damage other parcels or PostNord’s equipment.

Shipments abroad

We have compiled some important information for customers who want to send letters, parcels or pallets abroad. You will find FAQs, information about which customs and shipping documents are required and other useful links.
