First class mail international can be used when sending standard letters to other countries

Do you want to send a standard letter via the mail? With First Class Mail International service, your business can send letters anywhere in the world.

Flexible

A letter can weigh up to 2 kg, which allows you to send everything from a postcard to a product.

Simple

You post the item in a PostNord mailbox (Franko) or hand it in at a PostNord Business Center or PostNord Sorting Centre (Porto Payé with electronic delivery note).

Effectively

You can buy stamps online and easily reach recipients around the world.

How are First Class Mail sent?

First Class Mail is franked using Port Payé or a franking machine, and paid via invoice. You can also use stamps if you do not have an agreement with PostNord.

Letters containing goods and are sent outside EU shall be marked with a unique item-ID number and corresponding barcode. The letter is not traceable. You can create and print the labels and customs documentations via our system Skicka Direkt Business. Items with Shipment-ID number are not traceable.

Sending First Class Mail using Port Payé

Mark the envelope with a “PRIORITAIRE" and our special Port Payé block label, which you place beside the postage. Port Payé consignments can be handed in at our business service centers and letter terminals. Download the Port Payé label block.

Sending First Class Mail using a franking machine

You can also frank First Class Mail letters using a franking machine. This ensures straightforward administration and means you always have the right postage available. Franked letters can be posted in one of our mailboxes or handed in at a business service center. More information about franking machines.

Delivery

First Class Mail letters are delivered directly to recipients. If a letter is too large to be delivered in the recipient’s mailbox, it can instead be collected from the closest service point.

How much does it cost?

The price depends on the size of the letter. Further details are available in the price list.

How long does it take to deliver the letter?

The delivery time can vary depending on the destination country. The first class mail international service can be used when sending standard letters abroad. Post in a mailbox or hand in at a service point. Delivery time of 2–5 days within EU. Information about our standard delivery times is available here.

Can I send anything I want?

You can essentially send whatever you want, if it complies with the following restrictions:

In the case of air transport

Pursuant to the 2010 EU Directive, shipments transported by air have to be X-rayed to comply with air safety rules. If the X-ray does not provide any information about the contents of the shipment, the shipment will be sent using a different mode of transport, such as a rail or road. If that is not possible, the shipment is returned to the sender.

Sending shipments outside the EU

When sending goods to destinations outside the EU, you must enclose special customs documents and customs EDI with your shipment. When you print address labels via Pacsoft Online the customs EDI will be created simultaneously and will be sent to the receiving customs. More information about customs procedures outside the EU.

Sending shipments within the EU

When sending goods within the EU, you always need to include a safety declaration (pdf).
