With Addressed Direct Mail (ADM) you can both build relationships with existing customers, identify new customers in your target audience, drive traffic to your website and attract customers to your store. You reach your customers without being intrusive. Simply and effectively.

With Addressed Direct Mail you can decide for yourself how you want to design your message. Maybe you want to inspire people to make purchases with a catalogue or magazine? Or why not send out personal offers, discount codes or samples? There are almost no limits to how creative you can be.

There are many advantages of Addressed Direct Mail. You reach precisely the right target audience. You can make selections based on age, gender, purchasing power, car ownership, interests, lifestyle and much more. It is easy to adapt the message so that it becomes more relevant to the target audience and arouses their interest. Also, recipients themselves can decide when, where and how they want to receive the mailing. This helps ensure that your recipients take in your message and take action based on it. If you have no customer database of your own, we can help you with finding addresses that match your target audience through the Addresses service.

Advance notification

If you are planning to submit more than 5,000 unsorted mail items* or more than 50,000 sorted mail items, you must provide advance notice of this 7 working days prior to the submission date. This applies to mail items that

  • lack a cover (does not apply to non-folded rectangular and square cards with a weight of at least 150 g/m2)
  • are thicker than 6 mm or smaller than 90 x 140 mm
  • are not square
  • contain samples or other objects
  • weigh more than 1 kg each.

*An unsorted shipment is a shipment that contains 500–4,999 mail items or a shipment with more than 5,000 mail items that are not sorted as per our sorting instructions. Content and labeling

ADM mail items may only contain advertising. Advertising means messages whose content has been produced with the sole purpose of marketing products or services and does not entail any obligations for the recipient.

With Addressed Direct Mail you can reach all recipients all over the country, both consumers and companies. Both the name and postal address of the recipient and sender must be visible on the mail item. Each mail item must be labeled with a postage indication and a “B” to the left of the postage indication as per the clichés that can be downloaded.

What is known as a clear space must be left on the mail item. This means that you leave space on the envelope where we print a sorting code. You can read more about clear spaces and labeling in the document How to send items correctly with PostNord.

Booking

By 5 pm on the working day prior to handing in the mail items, you must book the following consignments:

  • Sorted consignments with 50,000 or more mail items.
  • Unsorted consignments with 20,000 or more mail items.
  • Shipments containing at least 5,000 mail items that are thicker than 20 cm.

Bookings are made online or via customer service on 0771-33 33 10.

Handing in

You can hand in your mail items as unsorted or sorted shipments. When you hand in your items, you bring with you a printed shipping note (if you have generated electronic invoicing data) or physical invoicing documentation. A sample copy of the mail item must always be handed in along with the invoicing documentation. The sample copy must be an unaddressed and open mail item.

Delivery

ADM is delivered every working day throughout the country along with other mail by PostNord’s mail carriers.

Choose between the following three ADM services:

  1. ADM. Normally distributed by the third working day that is not a public holiday after the hand-in date.
  2. ADM Exact. Distributed on the third working day that is not a public holiday after the hand-in date. If you would like us to deliver everything on the same day, you should select the ADM Exact.
  3. Climate Efficient ADM*. Normally distributed no later than the third working day that is not a public holiday after the hand-in date.

All mail items in a shipment must have the same dimensions and format. The weight may vary by no more than 30 g between the lightest and the heaviest item in the shipment.

In sorted shipments where all mail items weigh more than 150 g, the weight may vary by no more than 200 g between the lightest and the heaviest mail item. Advance notification is made no later than 7 working days before the hand-in date, directly to your key account manager at PostNord.

*Climate Efficient ADM:

You can also choose to send your mailings in an environmentally sound way using Climate Efficient ADM at no extra charge. You label Climate Efficient ADM items with a special cliché that can be downloaded. Mail items that cannot be delivered are recycled instead of being returned, and the distribution is climate-compensated.

To send mail items with our climate-economical labeling, the following applies:

  • Actors in all parts of the chain must be certified to ISO 14 001 or equivalent.
  • Paper and envelopes must comply with the Nordic Ecolabel criteria or equivalent.
  • The printers must comply with the Nordic Ecolabel criteria or equivalent.
  • The mail item and its contents must be recyclable as paper, cardboard or plastic.
