Information on payment of import VAT
By paying import VAT on https://portal.postnord.com/betalamoms, you appoint PostNord as a direct customs agent. This means that PostNord, on behalf of the consumer, will arrange for necessary documents to be presented for approval to the Customs administration and for paying the statutory VAT.
As a recipient, you are responsible for ensuring that the shipments you receive have been customs cleared correctly. PostNord has no right to examine the contents of a consignment and bases the customs declaration solely on the specified information in the accompanying shipping documents. Should you find that the customs clearance has been based on, for example, incorrectly stated value, then you have an obligation to report this to the Swedish Customs. You have maximum three years grace period to do so after receiving the shipment. Omission to do so could result in a criminal offence. Please contact the Swedish Customs to have your customs declaration revisited.
Should you, as a recipient, discover that PostNord has made a mistake, please contact PostNord's customer service. Always provide the parcel ID in your contacts with customer service so that the case can be handled smoothly. If you are not satisfied with the PostNord's customer service handling of your case, you can contact PostNord's customer ombudsman.
Read about PostNord's Code of Conduct.
When you choose to pay your import VAT and handling fee through a website belonging to PostNord, you also accept that you waive your right of withdrawal, as the handling of the customs clearance from the payment is fully automated and carried out immediately.
