Power of attorney
When the recipient cannot sign for their items themselves for some reason, a power of attorney is required. Power of attorney is used by both individuals and companies.
Examples include illness, stays abroad, or if you do not have valid identification. The power of attorney must be registered in PostNord's system before it can be used.
How to register your power of attorney
- Fill in the power of attorney form for private individuals (pdf).
- Submit the power of attorney in person at your nearest business center.
The power of attorney must be submitted one week before it is to take effect. Remember to bring your ID with you. If you are unable to submit the power of attorney in person, the person who witnessed your signature must be present. This person must show a valid ID at the business center.
The witness cannot be the representative of the power of attorney.
The power of attorney is valid for five years
A power of attorney is valid for a maximum of five years and must then be renewed. The power of attorney becomes valid upon receipt of confirmation from us by letter that we have registered it.
Cancellation of the power of attorney
If you need to cancel your power of attorney, this must be done in writing. This is done using the same form that you use to register a power of attorney. On page two of the form, you will find information about cancellation.

You can also collect a shipment for someone else without a power of attorney. In this case, both your and the recipient's ID must be shown.
