PostNord is temporarily pausing certain goods to the United States and Puerto Rico
PostNord announces a temporary pause on postal shipments containing goods to the United States and Puerto Rico, effective August 23. This follows a recent change in customs and tariff rules for the U.S. that eliminates the De Minimis exemption for inbound goods.
As of August 23, 2025, PostNord will temporarily suspend postal shipments containing goods to the USA and Puerto Rico. The reason is new customs regulations announced on July 30, 2025, which eliminate the de minimis exemption for incoming goods.
There are a few exceptions to the suspension:
- Parcels sent by private individuals marked as gifts, with a marked value of USD 100 or less, are not affected.
- Parcels with a marked value exceeding USD 800 are not affected.
- Letters that don't contain goods are not affected.
