What is Domestic letter shipment?

Domestic letter shipment is a service for everyone who wants to send large volumes of business letters weighing up to 2 kg directly to their customers’ mailboxes. Choose First Class Mail for the fastest delivery or Economy Mail for lower postage costs.

The letter shipment service entails sending at least 500 unsorted or 5,000 sorted letters. All the letters must originate from the same sender, weigh the same (max. differential 30 grams) and be in the same format. If you sort your letters in zip code order, you pay even less postage.

To book and use the letter shipment service, you need to be one of our service agreement customers.

Delivery

The delivery time is based on the service you choose for sending your mail as a letter shipment. First Class Mail is delivered within 1–2 business days, while Economy Mail and advertising mail-outs are delivered within 3–4 business days.

How do I use this service?

Send letter shipments (First Class Mail)

Mark the envelopes with our Port Payé block labels and register an invoice document in our digital tool ELIN. Drop your shipments off at one of our service points or mail terminals. Click here to find out more about relevant drop-off locations.

If your First Class Domestic letter shipment exceeds the volumes stated below, you will need to book your shipment before dropping it off. The booking for your First Class letter shipment must be registered no later than 9 a.m. on the drop-off day.

  • Sorted shipment containing at least 25,000 items.
  • Unsorted shipment containing at least 10,000 items.
  • Unsorted shipments containing at least 5,000 items that are more than 2 cm thick.

The following shipments should be booked no later than 5 PM two weekdays prior to drop off:

  • Special sorted shipment with at least 100,001 shipment items in each price zone (low or normal zone).
Send letter shipments (Economy Mail and ADM)

Mark the envelopes with our Port Payé block labels and register an invoice document in our digital tool ELIN. Drop your shipments off at one of our service points or mail terminals. Find out more about relevant drop-off locations.

If your Economy Mail Domestic letter shipment exceeds the volumes stated below, you will need to book your shipment before dropping it off. The booking for your Economy Mail letter shipment must be registered no later than 5 p.m. on the day before drop-off.

  • Sorted shipment containing at least 50,000 items.
  • Unsorted shipment containing at least 20,000 items.
  • Unsorted shipments containing at least 5,000 items that are more than 2 cm thick.

The following shipments should be booked no later than 5 PM two weekdays prior to drop off:

  • Special sorted shipment with at least 100,001 shipment items in each price zone (low or normal zone).
