"PostNord is an exceptionally reliable partner"
Speed and local adaptation are the defining characteristics of German e-commerce giant Zalando, which expanded its operations to the Nordic region last year.
"In PostNord, we've found the best solution for our customers in the Nordic market," says Zalando's Michael Lindskog.
Michael Lindskog is in charge of Zalando's new business in the Nordic region.
"It's reassuring to have a smoothly functioning, reliable partner on our side, who helps us live up to our customers' expectations," he says.
In five years Zalando has transformed itself from a seller of ladies' shoes for the German market out of an apartment in Berlin to a European e-commerce giant. In the course of six months in 2012, Zalando entered no fewer than seven European markets, including the Nordic region which is an important market for the e-commerce firm.
Logistics services in the Nordic region are handled by PostNord Logistics, which with its 4,500 distribution centers helps ensure that Zalando can meet its requirements for quality and flexibility.
"Logistics is a key function for Zalando, since it has a major impact on our customers' satisfaction. PostNord is an exceptionally reliable and flexible partner. With our constantly growing assortment of labels and products, it feels reassuring to have a smoothly functioning, reliable partner on our side, who helps us live up to our customers' expectations," says Michael Lindskog.
By engaging PostNord, Zalando gains a logistics partner for the entire Nordic market, and one who is responsible for the entire chain, from the warehouse in Germany to end-customers throughout the entire Nordic region – and returns to Germany as well. A comprehensive Nordic offering, where PostNord handles everything from small, lightweight shipments to pallet transports, all under the same contract.
"Our customers must have confidence in our logistics partner. That's why, in our international markets, we choose local logistics partners. In addition, our logistics supplier must be able to support us by reliably delivering our packages to our customers. E-commerce is growing extremely strongly in the Nordic market. Free deliveries and returns are an important part of Zalando's company philosophy. This means that a smoothly functioning partnership with the right transport partner is an essential and unavoidable part of Zalando's value proposition. In PostNord, we've found the best solution for our customers in the Nordic market," says Michael Lindskog.
PostNord also works closely with Zalando on the refinement of new logistics solutions.
"Zalando works with PostNord really well, and we hope to be able to continue investing in this partnership in the long term. Together, we're working on continually improving and optimizing our processes, so that we can offer our Nordic customers the best possible service."
