Swedish Posten expanding in Norway

Through its subsidiary, Posten Logistik, Swedish Posten is expanding its operations in Norway. Approx. 700 distribution points where Norwegian consumers can collect packages which they have ordered are being established under the MyPack brand.

Through its new distribution network, Posten Logistik will provide companies with a powerful new alternative on the Norwegian market.

"Many companies have been seeking more alternatives on the Norwegian market and Posten Logistik's ambition is to become a strong Nordic player. This new distribution network strengthens our Nordic presence whilst providing a logical complement to our product portfolio," says Anders Holm, Sales Director at Posten Logistik.

Posten's target group is primarily larger distance sellers who require a strong partner for the entire Nordic market. The Norwegian consumers order goods from companies such as Ellos and Klingel. These goods are sent by Posten to Norway where the packages delivered to a distribution point near the customer.

In Sweden, Ellos sends approx. 3.5 million packages each year to its customers and is thus the country's largest distance selling company. Ellos' customer circle in Norway is large and constantly growing.

"Having a reliable supplier like Posten is extremely important. We also want a supplier covering both Sweden and Norway since our Nordic market does not follow national boundaries," says Leif Johanson, Operations Manager at Ellos.

Posten has an agreement with ICA Norge which means that approx. 400 distribution points are being established in ICA's and Rimi's shops. Some 300 additional distribution points are also being established. Swedish Posten will thereby cover 92% of Norway. The total of some 700 distribution points being established by Posten will be visible under the MyPack brand.

There will be a clear symbol outside all shops so that Norwegian consumers can easily find their way to their distribution point.

Swedish Posten's wholly-owned subsidiary Posten Logistik, will manage packages, pallets and express services throughout the entire Nordic region by means of subsidiaries and the DPD franchise network.
