President and CEO Erik Olsson comments:

Posten's 2004 net earnings improved considerably year over year, driven mainly by higher revenues and substantial cost reductions. The bottom line is the proof that our organization was able to demonstrate crucial flexibility during a period marked by far-reaching changes and major cutbacks. Fierce competition and electronic substitution have eroded mail volumes, weighing on Posten's largest business area, messaging services. Demand for Posten's logistics and direct mail services continues to rise. In addition to solid financials, Posten is also pleased to report an uptick in customer confidence. The Customer Satisfaction Index as well as pollster Temo's annual Corporate Image survey trended positively during the year.
