Take advantage of the Valuables service when sending precious items within Sweden.
Shipments must be collected and signed for by the recipient or their representative. Shipments made using this service may contain items worth up to a market value of SEK 10,000, if means of payment. For other types of content, the shipment may contain items with a market value of up to SEK 50,000.
New directives for air freight
New EU directives mean that since April 29 2010, all shipments weighing more than 2 kg that are being flown within Sweden have had to be X-rayed in order to ensure that they satisfy flight safety regulations. This affects Valuables. In instances where X-ray scanning cannot determine the content of a parcel, the shipment must be sent by other means, such as train or truck. This can result in the shipment being delayed.
Dispensation in respect of the distribution of firearms and weapons components
Dispensation from the applicable conditions of service and special conditions for Valuables (Letters and enclosures) is granted to the distribution of firearms and weapons components during the period 09.01.2010 up to and including 12.31.2011. A fundamental requirement for distribution is that the customer ensures that all relevant provisions in the Swedish Weapons Act (1996:67), Swedish Weapons Ordinance (1996:70) and Swedish National Police Board regulations and general advisories on firearms legislation (RPSFS 2009:13) are complied with. The same codes also describe in greater detail what is meant by the term 'firearm' and which other types of weapon are covered by the provisions.
The main section and vital section of weapons must be sent in separate special delivery shipments. Note that the terms of the Swedish Weapons Act must be complied with. We also ensure that the customer has fitted a weapons lock to the main section of the weapon. It is not permitted to send explosive ammunition loaded with gunpowder, carbon dioxide or flammable liquids.
